Our conductor this year is Kath Wissinger, of McGaheysville, VA.
Kath is a church musician, clinician, teacher
and composer who has long been active in handbells. Kath is known for
her direct teaching style and for teaching theory and musicality while
directing from the podium. She has over 50 compositions in print! She
has directed the teen handbell group at her church since 1988 and also
teaches middle high handbell classes at a small private school. Kath
has chosen some excellent and interesting music for us to ring, paying
particular attention to economy (two of them have been used in previous
Nittany Valley Festivals, one is only $1.75!!) and use throughout the
church year (Lent, Pentecost, Advent, a lively Spiritual, and a few for
general use).
